EXPERIENCE

2000-Present DI Consulting - Owner - Design/Builder

Semi retired. Have performed various consulting and construction services including: Mechanical design and development review for the campus expansion  ($7MM+ project), Dehumidification upgrade for University R&D cleanroom, Mechanical review of industry projects for permitting,  Consulting for MD Anderson Cancer  Research GMP facility (10 years running),  Land Development for subdivision, ranching operations, general consulting for a Houston based semiconductor facility,  building committee member for a new $10MM 3 story office banquet hall complex.  In 2010 Completed design and construction of a high hazard laboratory on the Houston ship Channel; workscope included:  Chillers, Scrubbers, DI water system, waste treatment plant, toxic sensors, and stainless steel process piping.  Paid bonus on project for ahead of schedule completion. Consultant for $30MM oilfield drilling design/build proposal, Consultant for phase 2 FDA trial facility.  Commercial MEP design on various projects.  Design/Builder for 35,000 sqft electronics assembly plant.

1998-2000 LuwaLepco, Inc. President

Sold Business. Managed post acquisition merger of the two design / build companies. Integrated 130 personnel supervising Vice Presidents and Department Managers in engineering, sales, construction, and service, as well as day-to-day operations of the company. Company operations included service operations in 5 cities, engineering and sales offices in two major regions, and one overseas office.  Principal Business Design and Construction of Advanced Technology Facilities.

1985-1998 Lepco, Inc. President - Owner

President and owner. Responsible for day-to-day operations of the company ($40 MM revenue), including supervision and training of engineers, project managers, sales managers, estimators, and service personnel. Company Comptroller. Key activities in conceptual design, marketing, and sales for clients from Pharmaceutical to Microelectronic from general industry to government and University R&D facilities.

Prior assignments as Vice President, General Manager, Engineering Manager, and Project Engineer: Principal designer and manager of over 50 turnkey design/build projects.  Key involvement in over 250 cleanroom projects. Design expertise in ground-up factory and cleanroom layout, microelectronics process support systems, steel structural systems, and complex mechanical, HVAC, and control systems.

Examples of completed work are entire Class 1/10 Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication facilities, ground-up development processes, multi-building campus size central plants, freestanding modular cleanrooms, close tolerance facilities (Class 1, + .1 deg F, 45% + 2% RH), Research Chambers Class 1 (+ .1 deg F, + 1% RH, NC50).   International factory construction up to 400,000 square feet.  Expert in exhaust (including toxic/pollution abatement) / mechanical piping and PLC based control Systems.

Management experience in merger and acquisition involving technical based companies and have extensive large project contracting experience.   Possess extensive expertise on the use of computer systems for load calculation, estimating, design, and evaluation.  Skilled at achieving on time under budget projects. Industry expert in the area of overall cleanrooms, complex mechanical systems, process support systems, and energy efficiency in HVAC systems.

1982 - 1985 Shell Oil Company - Engineering Supervisor

Well Evaluation Supervisor - Supervised field engineers in territory of West Texas, Eastern New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Kansas.  Petrophysical Engineer - Evaluated wells/projects for oil and gas potential.  Field Engineer - Provided on-site coordination of service company activities.  Responsible for subcontractor performance.

1982 - 1988 United States Army Reserve - Engineering Officer

XO Combat Engineering Company, Project Construction Officer (420 Engr Bde). Managed and supervised engineering troops.   Experience with heavy equipment from Dozers to graders.  Designed engineering structures.  Completed Airborne Course.

1981 - 1981 Boeing Aerospace Company

Engineering Internship in Quality Assurance Department. Worked in the vibration and acoustic testing facility at the NASA Johnson Space Center. On structural design team for shuttle Challenger.

· Published and presented numerous papers on cleanroom and mechanical systems for IES and ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers), MMT, and Cleanrooms magazine. Member of CR '91 show - board of National Cleanroom experts.
